Buttered egg noodles were often on the table when I was growing up! So simple, yet very delicious, goes with anything. It happens to be one my favorites. It is a comfort food to me.
I remember grandmother would cook the fresh chicken and boil the homemade egg noodles in that broth, and serve the chicken pieces with the cooked buttered noodles…. ohhh delish! Fresh egg noodles are best for this recipe, but it’s not a deal-breaker.
Ingredients
4 cups chicken broth
14 oz egg noodles, any ( I got mine from Russian store)
3/4 stick butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Direction:
In a large pan bring chicken broth and butter to boil. Add noodles, bring to a second boil, lower the heat and boil for about 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Cover and turn off the heat. (leave pot on the same burner). Let stand for 25-30 minutes, stirring twice.
Enjoy!!!
This recipe is great during weekday when you just want something quick, simple and I would eat it with some canned tomatoes :).
ohh canned tomatoes would be awesome with this 😉
I added fresh mushrooms when the noodles we’re almost done. Delicious!!
