Katleti are traditional Russian pan-fried patties/hamburgers, usually served with sides like rice or potatoes.
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground chicken
1/2 tsp. of black pepper
1 tsp. salt
1tsp. mayonnaise
1 Tbsp. Heavy cream
3 cloves garlic- crushed
½ cup bread crumbs
1egg
1/2 cup bread crumbs
Vegetable oil for frying
Direction:
In a mixing bowl mix together ground chicken, mayonnaise, heavy cream, black pepper, salt, garlic and bread crumbs. Knead them all until well combined.
From the mixture form balls about the size of an egg and flat them with your palms, place them in to the flat platter.
In a large frying pan heat about 1 cup of oil over low- medium heat.
Place an egg into bowl and beat with fork.
Place ½ cup bread crumbs in separate little bowl.
Take one meatball and dip it into egg mixture then roll in bread crumbs and place in frying pan.
Fry meatballs in batches, turning them over a couple times during the process. They are done when they are golden brown.
Add more oil if needed for rest of the batches.
Repeat this step for all of the meatballs.
Enjoy!!!

These sound fantastic! If only I could brave the frying at home bit!!
It is interesting to note how certain foods are prepared across cultures with their own unique touch. In India we make similar patties but with addition of whole garam masala. Thanks for sharing.

I love kotlets, my grandma used to make them. Thanks for sharing this wonderful easy to make recipe.
I love simple meat dishes like this, they’re the best! A lot of your cooking reminds me of some of my moms, we’re Romanian, so I’m sure that has to do with some of the similarities 🙂
These look lovely! Very interesting to have cream and mayo in the patty itself – definitely would love to try this 🙂
I’ve never had russian food – I’m glad I found your blog! 🙂
Kak dyela, Inessa? I love Eastern European food! I love the fact that you have mayo in the recipe, must add a tangy taste to it. Thanks for following me back or I should say, Spasiba! You know, I run a Friday Cooking Club on my site and we have monthly themes. Our theme in March is Eastern European food. If you’re up for it, I would love to have you do a guest post! Di svidanya! xx
